Your
Website
Understanding and
defining the purpose of your website will go a long way in
helping you to build your home based business. This is
especially true if you are an internet
marketer.
Finding your Niche
One of the first steps
you will need to take is defining your niche. While some
may be under the misconception that marketing to the widest
market available is a successful stradigy, the truth is that
the wider the market, the bigger your competition pool will
be.

Niche Marketing written by Wendy

finding your own niche and how it will help you build your
Internet business.
Define
your Website's Purpose
You will also need to define the purpose of your
website. Is it to sell product, build a list,
recruit people into your downline? Decide what the
primary goal of your website is and stick to it.
You may be asking, what does that mean? Well it's
quite simple, if you want to sell product from your
website, then make that your primary focus. If
you have too much information about other topics, your site
visitors will become confused and leave your site.
This isn't to say that you can't talk about the other
aspects of your business on your website, you just need to keep
the primary focus directed at your primary goal.
A good example is my GVCandles website. The
primary focus of the website is to educate site visitors
about using gourmet candles as a home based business
opportunity.
The site starts by talking about the candles and why they
are unique and then moves on to related topics including, how
to earn money with candles, the focus of our team and the tools
provided by our team that faciliate getting a business into
profit.
Keywords and Content
Choosing your keywords and writing your content
will be what sets your site apart from others within your
niche. One of the best keyword tools I've used is
Wordtracker. Access a free trial of Wordtracker.
While your keywords are important, the unique content will
also bring site visitors. The content on your site will
also show up in the search engines, and provides my websites
with additional visitors.
Your content will play a major roll in the success or
failure of your website. I can't stress how important it
is to provide your website visitors with unique content that
gives them the information they are looking for.
